New ‘high-fashion’ jewelry store coming to Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto

Vintage Faire Mall announced a new store is coming to the upper level next to the Vans shop.

The fashion jewelry store Lovisa will open Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m. with a short ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We’re just really excited to invite them to Vintage Faire,” said Amy MacPhail, a spokesperson for the mall.

Lovisa was started in Australia and has retail stores all over the world, including Canada, Mexico, France, Germany and South Africa.

There are other longstanding tenants in the mall like Claire’s and Icing, which also sell fashion jewelry, MacPhail said, but the Lovisa brand keeps up with high-fashion trends and will bring something elevated.

“They’re bringing in a different kind of European-Australian vibe, and they have a different accessory mix.”

Like Claire’s, the new store will offer free nose and ear piercing with the purchase of the piercing studs.

The opening comes during a time when there are a lot of changes at the mall. For example, Victoria’s Secret recently was renovated, and Pink, its subsidiary, is in the process of a refresh.

The mall is adding a new eatery, too, but the business name has yet to be announced.

“We have a lot of different fluctuations,” MacPhail said. “It looks like we have all these empty spaces, but we actually have just a lot of things moving around and we’re still at 97% leased.”
