Are millennials killing off sit-down chain restaurants like Applebee's and TGI Fridays?

That's the theory being discussed after a story in Business Insider quoted Buffalo Wild Wings CEO Sally Smith in a story on the topic.

“Casual-dining restaurants face a uniquely challenging market today,” she told Business Insider's Kate Taylor, Business Insider's retail reporter.

“Millennial consumers are more attracted than their elders to cooking at home, ordering delivery from restaurants and eating quickly, in fast-casual or quick-serve restaurants,” Smith wrote.

Delivery kits like Blue Apron, quick places like Chipotle Mexican Grill or Panera Bread, all are playing a role. Some of the sit-down chains are beginning to offer delivery.

It's a pretty interesting read on a growing trend that could impact – or for our Modesto area sit-downs – to change.
