YESTERYEARS
50 YEARS AGO: The Yosemite Junior College District board of trustees presented to the public its master building plan. As part of the plan, the trustees were seeking to put a measure on the November ballot asking for a 30-cent tax override increase that would in 10 years produce $20.1 million, including a 25 percent match in federal and state funds. The board’s desire was to make upgrades to Modesto Junior College, build a second college in Tuolumne County and an additional school somewhere in the Valley to meet growth needs.
