Fire badly damages Oakdale home under renovation

An Oakdale home under renovation was badly damaged by fire early Tuesday.

Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to the home in the 10000 block of Buckmeadows Drive at about 4:45 a.m. to find heavy fire through the roof.

The fire was elevated to a second alarm. It destroyed about 80 percent of the house, causing an estimated $450,000 in damage.

The cause remained under investigation.
