YESTERYEARS
75 YEARS AGO: The Oakdale City Council approved a new license fee ordinance that would take effect Oct.1. The ordinance was designed to lower the licensing fees on cigarette vending machines from $5 to $2.50. There was some protest to the lowering of the fees, and a letter that was read into the record by Henry Helt stated the Sunday school teachers of the Community Methodist Church were in favor of keeping the license fees at $5.
