YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: A 10-day suspension was lifted on the Modesto Police Department K-9 handlers and their dogs. The 10-day suspension was due to complaints filed against the department alleging that the K-9 officers bit the wrong people and were overly aggressive. As part of the suspension, the six handlers and dogs underwent new training that would make the dogs less likely to attack without specific commands.
