Festival celebrates India’s independence

The 29th annual Indian Cultural Gala celebrated the 70th anniversary of India’s independence at Modesto Centre Plaza on Saturday. The India Cultural Society of the Central Valley presented the event, which featured music, dance, food and more. India emerged from British colonial rule Aug. 15, 1947.
