Stanislaus Coroner’s Office IDs Turlock teen killed in crash

The 18-year-old Turlock man killed in a head-on collision Monday morning on South Carpenter Road west of Turlock has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office at Timothy Rigney.

The crash occurred about 5:50 a.m. Rigney, driving a 1998 Saturn sedan, was heading south on Carpenter, passing vehicles at high speed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Rigney was in the northbound lanes when he lost control, started spinning and struck head-on a northbound 2008 Nissan Altima driven by 47-year-old Kenneth Bodiker. Bodiker suffered moderate injuries, the CHP said.

Rigney’s passenger, 22-year-old Troy Preston of Modesto, suffered major injuries. He was wearing a seat belt, while Rigney was not.
