A Stanislaus County Probation officer suffered minor injures when the car in which he was riding was hit by a big rig near Al’s Furniture on McHenry Avenue.

The probation car was traveling west on Patterson Road where it cuts south of Al’s furniture and meets McHenry Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Chuck Leon. Probation Officer Binh Hoang, 29, was driving and his Field Training Officer Chris Strode, 39, was in the passenger seat.

As they turned onto southbound McHenry ,a big rig heading north ran a red light and hit the left side of the probation car.

Strode suffered minor injuries, a laceration to his leg and and neck pain. He was evaluated by paramedics at the scene and declined further treatment.

Hoang and the big rig driver, 54-year-old Raymond Myers were not injured.
