Family Fun Nights are back.

The Friday series returns to the Apostolic Jubilee Center in south Modesto this week, bringing raffles, community information, games, entertainment, school backpacks and children’s books. Everything is free of charge, even dinner.

The events all run 6:30-8:30 p.m. Each Friday has a special focus:

July 8 Safety and Health Fair: Celebrate the Latino Emergency Council’s 10th anniversary. Meet local law enforcement and watch canine demonstrations. Get CPR training. Enjoy games, science activities and student performances.

July 15 Community Resources Fair: Over 40 community-based agencies will be available to explain what they do and give families helpful information. For kids there will be games, activities, arts and crafts, student performances and more.

July 22 Kid’s Night: This is the night for kids to let their hair down – literally. There will be free haircuts and face painting in addition to games, activities, arts and crafts, student performances and science fun.

The Family Fun Nights series is a collaboration between multiple agencies and organizations. Organizers said the goal is to work closely with neighborhood residents to build relationships; provide educational, health, and community information and resources; and promote career awareness and higher education to youth and families.

Family Fun Nights will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 8, 15 and 22, at the Apostolic Jubilee Center, 821 Lassen Ave., Modesto. For more, call Jorge Pérez at 209-595-9654 or Madie Herrera at 209-996-7721.
