Modesto recognizes companies for industrial compliance
The city of Modesto recognized seven local industries and a liquid waste hauler for their compliance with the Industrial Pretreatment Program in 2015. Several are repeat winners.
They were nominated by environmental compliance inspectors who work closely with them and recognize those who have gone beyond mere compliance.
Companies recognized include the E.&J. Gallo Winery, which had a perfect record during the year; Georgia Pacific for no violations and for its preparedness; International Paper for no violations and preparedness; Bunge Oils for no violations and for a proactive stance toward environmental compliance; Seneca for no violations and working collaboratively with the city; Modesto Plating and Powder Coating for no violations; and Central Valley Labor for no violation and for providing timely and accurate reports.
Area teachers recognized during summer program
About 70 teachers at the Summer Institutes in Modesto spent a week learning in the Education Across the Curriculum program, earning continuing education credits. Speakers included Jason Messer, superintendent of Manteca Unified School District, and Kristen Messer, talking about technology for students and teachers. Winning awards at the end of the week were Hard Rock Award Winner Outstanding Student Telma Weatherford of Keyes Union School District. Delhi Unified School District took home Most Outstanding District Team.
Ceres accountant honored
Ceres’ Caleb Jenkins received a 2016 Insightful Accountant Top 100 ProAdvisor and Top Up-N-Comer award winner. The award recognizes a relative newcomer who embraces the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program.
