Southbound McHenry Avenue is shut down near Standiford Avenue in Modesto and could remain so for up to eight hours, Modesto police reported Saturday.
CalTrans and Modesto Irrigation District crews were working to clear a downed power pole and wires after a bus and vehicle crashed there Saturday afternoon. The road is expected to be closed into the night while CalTrans crews work, according to Modesto police. Only a brief power outage was reported.
Modesto police reported that the 3:50 p.m. crash involved a Modesto Area Express bus and another vehicle. There were no injuries, but the power pole was sheared off in the incident. Police had no further information as they investigated the crash.
Melissa Williams, MID public affairs spokeswoman, said there was “very little interruption” to power after the crash as power was rerouted quickly. MID crews also were on the scene to replace the pole.
