Info: The Antone E. and Marie F. Raymus Foundation has applications available for local organizations seeking financial grants. Applicants’ organizations must focus on education, children and/ or churches. To apply, the approved 501(c)(3) exemption form and completed application form and background information must be submitted no later than Feb. 6. Awards will be granted by June 26. YESTERYEARS

100 YEARS AGO: “The History of the World’s Greatest War” would play at the Modesto Theater in the coming week, it was announced. The movie was on five reels and was chosen by Manager Anderson as a way to help anyone interested in learning about WWI. The movie featured battle scenes, cavalry charges, infantry tactics and more.
