Big drop in temperature in store for Modesto this week
Modesto will experience a 22-degree difference in daily high temperatures between Wednesday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday’s high should be near 95.
On Thursday, an upper-level disturbance is expected to move into Northern California, the weather services predicts. The system will bring cooler temperatures, along with possible showers and isolated thunderstorms in the Sierra.
The forecast says Modesto could get less than one-tenth of an inch of rain between Friday and Sunday, and Sonora between one-tenth and a quarter inch.
The high in Modesto on Thursday is expected to be near 84. Friday’s high should be near 73.
Saturday also should see a high near 73, but there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m.
The chance of showers continues into Sunday, when the high should be near 75. Monday’s high should be near 78.
