75 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Stanislaus County Fair and Stock Show board of directors was considering abandoning plans for having the county fair in Oakdale. The decision was delayed for two weeks. However, board members Ed Zimmerman and June Smart presented a resolution stating the intention of the group not to have the event in Oakdale and to have a warrant of $1,294.78 be issued to pay off expenses already incurred.
