Modesto workshop for federal food, shelter funding
The Stanislaus County Emergency Food and Shelter Program Local Board has opened the application process to distribute funding through the federal government to agencies that provide emergency food and shelter. The amount to be distributed is not yet known, but last year emergency food and shelter providers throughout the county received $399,010.
To be eligible to apply, local agencies must be a private, voluntary nonprofit or local government, be eligible to receive federal funding, have a demonstrated ability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter, and if a nonprofit, have a voluntary board. Qualifying organizations are encouraged to apply. For more information, visit www.efsp.unitedway.org.
A mandatory application workshop will be held at 9:30 a.m. Fridayat the United Way of Stanislaus County, 422 McHenry Ave. RSVP is required to attend.
