What: STEAM program

Where: Keyes branch of the Stanislaus County Library, 4420 Maud Ave.

Info: During this science, technology, engineering, art and math program, children will learn about electricity and assemble electrical circuits to power a voice changer and other fun toys. The program is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. What: Valley Business Forum

When: Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth St.

Info: This free event with the theme “Our World is Changing” will feature entrepreneur and Patterson Mayor Luis Molina as keynote speaker. Expert panels will address topics including starting, operating and growing a successful business; staying compliant in an increasingly regulated world; the power of the growing Latino market; and new ways to fund your business. Spanish translation will be available. Among the presenting organizations will be the Stanislaus Business Alliance, Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Modesto Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration. What: Spring Boat Expo

When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Woodward Reservoir, 14528 26 Mile Road

Info: Stanislaus County Parks & Recreation presents the first Spring Boat Expo, with a variety of boats on display, boat demonstrations, train shuttle rides and free Mother’s Day photos near the picnic shelter. Food and beverage vendors will be on site, as well as the Stanislaus County Police Activities League providing face painting for kids. Admission to Woodward Reservoir is $10 per vehicle. 100 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Star Theater would host the play, “D’Artagnan,” based on the well-known novel “The Three Musketeers.” The star of the play was Orrin Johnson. Tickets were 15 cents for adults and 5 cents for children.
