Fallen Stanislaus County peace officers remembered

The Stanislaus County Peace Officers Association held a service Wednesday in remembrance of men and women in law enforcement who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Held at Lakewood Memorial Park, the emotional ceremony brought together many members of the law enforcement community, including officers, volunteers and support staff, in addition to family members of slain officers, military veterans and others.

Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson read the names of the fallen peace officers in the county through the years.

Jill Silva, the county’s chief probation officer, was the main speaker.
