Info: Yahi Bowmen of Modesto offers this course in the fundamentals of archery mainly for youths ages 8 and up. They also encourage participation of the family. Cost is $30 per participant. Info: The Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge No. 65 invite you to start Mother’s Day with a special treat. Bring the whole family to breakfast. Enjoy biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham-and-cheese omelets and French toast, along with coffee and orange juice. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 7 to 12 years old, free for 6 and under. 40 YEARS AGO: The Modesto Board of Education awarded a contract to install air conditioning at the Modesto High School Auditorium. The total project would cost $116,000. Of that, $33,000 was pledged by the school board while the City Council pledged $38,667. Additionally, a citizen’s committee had raised $27,000, with the hopes of raising another $6,200 to complete the total amount needed for the project.
