Salida pedestrian badly hurt in collision
A 21-year-old Salida man suffered major injuries when he was walking across Sisk Road in Salida on Tuesday night and was struck by a car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
About 10:05 p.m., Ryan Gulman was crossing Sisk from east to west, just north of Wessex Lane, said Officer Eric Parsons, a CHP spokesman. Gulman was not in a crosswalk and apparently ran into the path of a 2008 Ford Fusion heading south on Sisk. The driver was Modesto resident Jennifer Tynes, 33.
Gulman was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, Parsons said. Tynes was not injured.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, Parsons said.
