Man trapped in car after Turlock crash

The Turlock Fire Department rescued a male motorist after an early morning single-car crash Friday in Turlock.

Firefighters were called at 3:50 a.m. to respond to a crash at North Walnut Road and Monte Vista Avenue. According to the Fire Department, they found a man trapped inside his vehicle after striking a light post. Crews used heavy rescue tools to pry and cut away at the car. It took about an hour to extract the man, whose identity has not been released.

The victim was taken by air ambulance to the hospital. His condition was unknown. Ten firefighters took part in the rescue, as well as Turlock police, AMR and PHI Air Med.
