YESTERYEARS
40 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Local Agency Formation Commission planned to meet to consider the annexation of 48 acres of land that would be incorporated into the city of Ceres. The Peachtree addition encompassed the area of River and Herndon roads and would clear the way for a subdivision of the land. However, two years prior, the Board of Supervisors had said no, due to developers wanting to build numerous homes in the “no man’s land” area between Modesto and Ceres.
