What: Riverbank Historical Society meeting
When: Thursday, 11 a.m.
Where: Riverbank Museum, 3237 Santa Fe St.
Info: Bill Bucknam, a retired teacher who once taught for the Riverbank School District will give a talk about the Yokut Tribe of Native Americans. He plans to focus on events that took place near Riverbank and in Stanislaus County. Everyone is invited and refreshments will be served.

YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Hughson High School baseball team defeated the number one small school in the area. The Huskies, led by pitcher Mark Fountain, defeated the Ripon High School Indians 7-3 to take sole possession of first place in the Trans Valley League. Hughson improved its record to 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the TVL, while Ripon fell to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in league.
