YESTERYEARS
50 YEARS AGO: Co-workers of Modesto native Earl G. Pinuela would be donating blood in his name to the Delta Blood Bank of Stockton. Pinuela, an employee of Sharpe Army Depot in Tracy, at the time was facing his fourth abdominal surgery and would need blood transfusions. And in order to help the blood bank’s supply, his friends at the depot had donated 19 pints of blood.
