Motorcyclist injured in downtown Modesto crash

A motorcyclist suffered apparently minor injuries in a collision with an SUV on H Street in downtown Modesto on Tuesday afternoon. At about 3 p.m., the male cyclist was riding southwest on H when, according to a witness, the driver of an Acura SUV northwest on 15th Street ran the stop sign and drove into his path. The witness said the cyclist braked hard to avoid the crash but could not. The cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was conscious at the scene and was transported for treatment of at least a leg injury, police said.
