Patterson man gets over 2 years for DUI
A Patterson man has been sentenced to two years and four months in state prison for felony driving under the influence, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
On Feb. 24, a Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputy stopped Joseph Caloca, 30, for running a stop sign. Caloca smelled of alcohol but denied drinking. After failing several field sobriety tests, he was arrested. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
On March 17, Caloca pleaded no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level over 0.08 percent, a felony due to his prior felony drunk driving convictions in 2011 and 2012. Caloca served a state prison term for the 2012 felony DUI conviction.
