YESTERYEARS
100 YEARS AGO: Two Modesto businesses announced their weekend sale deals. The first was Milady’s Toggery Shop at 936 Tenth St. The shop had middy suits for 85 cents to $1.25 and skirts for $2.50. The other shop was the Modesto Candy Kitchen at 913 Tenth St. next to the Modesto Theater. The candy kitchen had a sale on oranges grown in Ventura County for $2.15 a box.
