Girls gain skills to ‘Live Your Dream’ at Modesto conference

Junior high school girls were urged to “Live Your Dream” at a conference held Saturday.

Hosted by Soroptimist clubs in Modesto, the Live Your Dream girls conference at Johansen High School attracted about 200 girls from co-sponsor Modesto City Schools.

The free conference – with a stated mission of “improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment” – included speakers, workshops, lunch and information booths.

Among the workshops were sessions on “How to Grow Money,” “Who Do You Want to Be?” and “Fun With Science.”
