The Civil War re-enactment in Knights Ferry is back on after a misunderstanding between the event organizers and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was resolved, according to officials from both.

The event will go on as scheduled at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area March 19-20.

Josh Chiulli, event coordinator for the American Civil War Association, said he replaced a different coordinator who misunderstood the requirements of the Army Corps’ special event permit, which were discussed at a meeting in February.

The disagreement was over which party is responsible for parking enforcement and where at the event the nonprofit can collect donations.

The parties worked out those details during a two-hour phone conversation on Tuesday, said Army Corps spokesman Luke Burns.

He said the ACWA has secured a volunteer group from California State University, Stanislaus, to serve as parking attendants.
