Modesto family seeks daughter, 18, not heard from since Thursday morning
Update: The family reports their daughter has returned home safely.
The family of a Downey High student is seeking help in finding her after she reportedly left campus alone Thursday morning and has not been heard from since.
Alyssa Barrera, an 18-year-old senior, was last seen leaving school at 11 a.m. after telling a friend she was going to see her girlfriend in Stockton, said Barrera’s mother, Charlene Robles. The teen has not reponded to telephone and text messages and other attempts to reach her.
Her family said she did not appear upset and was preparing to leave Modesto on June 20 to begin serving in the Army.
Barrera is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and curly black hair.
When she left school, she was wearing khaki joggers and a white, long-sleeved, thermal knit shirt. She was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, licence plate number 4YKK922.
Anyone with information on Barrera’s whereabouts is asked to call her mother at 209-298-6294.
