YESTERYEARS
100 YEARS AGO: The Modesto Women’s Improvement Club was helping to organize a discussion on future bond measures to be placed on a ballot for raising funds to improve school facilities. The bond measures were to be placed on a March 11 ballot, with one totaling $10,000 for a new grammar school on the west side and other totaling $160,000 for a new high school building, equipment and school site. The group was led by Mrs. C. H. Griswold, president.
