What: Music for All, an introduction to Orff-Schulwerk music education

Info: A brief program to celebrate the life and legacy of branch member Marie Slate, who passed away in November. Kickoff establishing the Marie Slate AAUW Turlock (CA) Memorial Fund as spendable restricted funds to be used for the Eleanor Roosevelt Research Fund. The speaker, a recipient of AAUW’s Career Development Grant, will be Natalie Koski-Karell, a third-year student at the University of California Hastings School of Law. Her focus is on environmental and sustainable urban development policy. She will speak about her journey, career goals and how she came to receive an American Association of University Women grant. 75 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Modesto Irrigation District made a net profit of $433,284.41 for the 1940 fiscal year after auditors confirmed the books. This was an increase of $76,138.06 from the previous year’s revenue.
