No chance of Modesto rain in forecast until Wednesday

A break from the warm, dry stretch in Modesto and surrounding areas is still several days away. The next predicted chance of rain is Wednesday.

For Presidents’ Day weekend, we’re in for sunny sky and temperatures in the low 70s.

Those bound for the snow over the three-day weekend still can find good conditions at Dodge Ridge, the skiing and snowboarding resort east of Pinecrest reports. Friday morning, six of eight chair lifts were open, giving access to nearly 40 groomed runs, according to the Dodge Ridge website. The highest daily temperature there over the holiday weekend will be 63 degrees on Monday, the National Weather Service says.

Nights and mornings in Modesto still will mean patchy fog for drivers, clearing before 10 a.m. Highs will reach near 72 on Sunday and Monday, then the temperature is expected to rise to near 77 on Tuesday.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 71 and a chance of rain.

Thursday should be partly sunny with a chance of rain and thunderstorms, plus a break from temperatures in the 70s. The high that day should be near 64.
