The Gallo Center for the Arts has added to its season lineup an April 5 concert by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G. Tickets are on sale to select buyers and will be available to the general public starting Friday.

The musician is touring in support of his latest album, “Brazilian Nights,” which was released early last year. It’s a salute to bossa nova, featuring performances of genre classics along with original songs. At the Gallo show, he also will perform hits from his extensive career, such as “Songbird,” “Forever In Love” and “Silhouette,” according to a news release.

In a recording career that spans more than three decades and 23 albums, contemporary jazz artist Kenny G has grafted elements of R&B, pop and Latin to a jazz foundation, according to the Gallo Center. Since the early 1980s, he has sold more than 75 million records worldwide (45 million in the U.S. alone) and has hit the top of Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart more than a dozen times.

The sax man has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music business, ranging from Whitney Houston to Weezer, to pop superstar Katy Perry, appearing in the video for her single “Last Friday Night.”

Tickets range from $49 to $99 for the 7:30 p.m. show. They are on sale now to Gallo Center Founders, Seat Namers and Center Circle Members. They go on sale Thursday to Gallo Center Friends, Friends-plus and Amigos of the Center, and on Friday to the general public.

To purchase, call the Gallo Center ticket office at 209-338-2100, go to 1000 I St. or buy online at GalloArts.org.
