Poetry in motion at Modesto festival

Fans of rhythmic word gathered in Modesto on Saturday at the MoSt Poetry Festival, sponsored by the Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center.

Poetry enthusiasts were treated to talks by guest poets Troy Jollimore and Heather Altfeld, both professors at California State University, Chico. The event at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church was emceed by Modesto poet laureate Gillian Wegener.

This was the fourth year MoSt has organized the festival, which also included readings, workshops and a poetry contest.
