Modesto boy’s pirate wish comes true

A 12-year-old Modesto boy who is battling a rare kidney disease got the surprise of a lifetime last Saturday. Connor Reed had his wish delivered by a gang of pirates during the 16th annual Wishmaker’s Ball. The Make-a-Wish Foundation had told Connor that his wish for a pirate treehouse was in limbo but, in fact, it was just about to come true.
