A sea of red-clad women filled the Martin G. Peterson Event Center in downtown Modesto on Friday afternoon during the Women Wear Red for Heart Awareness luncheon. The event is held annually to help raise awareness about women’s heart health. The keynote speaker this year was Dr. Teresa Daniele, assistant professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and raffle tickets were peddled by city firefighters. Proceeds will benefit the Memorial Medical Center and Sutter Gould Medical Foundation cardiac services, education and rehab departments.
