Two injured in single rollover accident in Modesto
The Modesto Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle injury accident that occurred Monday morning on Yosemite Boulevard near South Morton Boulevard.
The driver, 68-year-old Elvira Yearwood, was rushed by ambulance to the hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries, police spokeswoman Heather Graves said.
A passenger, a 3-year-old girl who was ejected from the vehicle, was taken by helicopter to a local hospital. The girl was alert as she was taken, Graves said.
There was no obvious cause for the accident, which occurred at 9:45 a.m., Graves said. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
After the accident, traffic on Yosemite was closed in both directions from D Street to Las Flores Avenue.
