What: EAT BETTER, MOVE BETTER PROGRAM

When: Monday, 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.

Where: Senior Community Center, 2307 Fourth St.

Info: The Healthy Aging Association, Area Agency on Aging and Howard Training Center present the Eat Better, Move Better Program. Any senior 60 or older can attend. The Eat Better, Move Better Program is a short interactive nutrition and physical activity session offered once a week. Participants will earn rewards, win weekly prizes and qualify for a grand prize at the end. For more information, call (209) 523-2800.

YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: Modesto Parks Director Mary Grogan recommended $1.8 million in park acquisition and recreation development for the 1975-76 fiscal year. Grogan had laid out a plan that would cost $170,000, over a three-year time span, for a city owned and operated, lighted soccer field, in the vicinity of Del Webb Field. City Manager Garth Lipsky was in charge of reviewing the plans.
