Stanislaus County deputy involved in vehicle wreck west of Waterford
A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department deputy and another man escaped serious injuries after the vehicles they were driving collided at an intersection near Waterford early Wednesday evening.
At about 6:45 p.m., the deputy was driving east on Yosemite Boulevard at about 45 mph when a man heading south on North Pasadena Avenue drove into the intersection and was struck by the deputy vehicle, according to Joelle McChesney, an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The intersection is controlled by stop signs on North Pasadena. McChesney said the man had stopped at the stop sign and looked both ways before entering the intersection.
His vehicle rolled over. However, he was able to escape, along with two dogs, without serious injury. The deputy also suffered minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
