Man found dead south of Ceres is identified

The man found dead along the 5500 block of Faith Home Road, south of Ceres, on Saturday morning has been identified.

Maurice Charles Dickson, 86, was found perhaps 30 feet off the roadway, on a driveway that leads to the trailer where he was living, said Stanislaus County sheriff’s Detective Zeb Poust.

A passer-by spotted the body and called 911. The Sheriff’s Department initially considered the death suspicious, but there were no signs of trauma and Dickson now is thought to have died of natural causes, Poust said.

The county Coroner’s Office is seeking friends or family members of Dickson’s. Anyone with information is asked to call Poust at 209-567-4420.
