Body found on Faith Home Road in Ceres; death deemed suspicious

A man was found dead, lying in the 5500 block of Faith Home Road, on Saturday morning.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is calling the death suspicious, said sheriff’s Lt. Mike Parker.

“We could not determine the cause of death, so out of an abundance of caution, we’re investigating it as a homicide,” Parker said.

The deceased was an adult male. No further details were available Saturday evening.

A passer-by spotted the body and called 911 about 8:30 a.m., bringing officers to the scene just south of Highway 99.
