Info: Sons in Retirement (SIR) Branch 103 is a Gentlemen’s luncheon club. This month is Ladies Day and will feature entertainment from Mike Gutierrez on the saxophone and the Golden Valley Quartet singing their favorite Christmas carols. What: Fitness classes for seniors
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 to 5 p.m.

Info: The Healthy Aging Association offers free Young At Heart group exercise classes for 60 years and better all over Stanislaus County. Classes range from strength training, aerobics or Tai Chi. The strength training classes uses tubes for resistance and the exercises can be done standing or sitting depending on the participant’s ability. Morning classes are available throughout Stanislaus County. New afternoon classes opened at the Greater Yosemite Council BSA facility. YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: A $2.5 million expansion project at Ripon High School was on track to start. The Ripon Unified School District awarded the construction contract to Grover Construction for $2,509,232. Construction was expected to begin in mid-January, with completion of the project within the year. The expansion was to include 12,000 square-foot multipurpose room, and would have a stage with a kitchen. The City of Ripon contributed $250,000 to the stage facilities.
