A 2010 East Union High School graduate and Manteca native serving in the U.S. Navy was selected to participate in a special event that reunited service members stationed in Norfolk, Va., with their families for Thanksgiving.

Airman Trevor Ratti was one of only 72 Navy and Marine personnel chosen to participate in the reunion event. His parents, Deborah and James Ratti, and two sisters, Caterina and Shyanne Ratti, were flown in from Tracy to spend the Thanksgiving holiday together.

“I can’t fly home for Christmas, so I really needed this,” Trevor Ratti said. “This is probably the happiest I’ve ever been in the Navy.”

“Happy ThanksGathering” was produced by the Navy Mid-Atlantic Region Morale, Welfare and Recreation, in partnership with SC Johnson. It reunited service members assigned to ships, squadrons and other Navy commands in Norfolk with their loved ones, who were flown in to spend Thanksgiving. Service members are often unable to see their families during the holidays.
