MODESTO
What: “Welcome to the Hotel Paradiso”

Info: Adapter and director Michael Lynch has reset the French comedy by Georges Feydeau and Maurice Desvallieres to late 19th century San Francisco. During the comings and goings of two couples and incidents of mistaken identity, an affair goes completely awry at the shadiest hotel known in San Francisco's Barbary Coast area. With much running to and fro and frequent slamming of doors, “Hotel Paradiso” is a hilarious, fast-paced farce. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for students and senior citizens, and Dec. 1 is a Student Preview Night with all tickets $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Auditorium Box Office, Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m. or by calling 209-575-6776 during these hours, and available at the Little Theatre beginning 90 minutes prior to each performance. Tickets may also be purchased in advance online at http://mjc.tix.com. The production includes the sound of gunshots, and is not recommended for children under 10 years old.

OAKDALE
What: Oakdale Garden Club Festival of Trees
When: Setup Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trees lit 7 p.m. Dec. 4
Where: Wood Park, North Yosemite Avenue and F Street
Info: The Oakdale Garden Club, in cooperation with the city of Oakdale, presents the Festival of Trees in Wood Park to add lights, decorated trees and holiday cheer to the downtown park during the Christmas season. Individuals, businesses and community groups are invited to bring a decorated tree to the park on Friday. Oakdale Garden Club members will install the tree and a large candy cane with the name of the donor. Free hot cider and cookies will be served by the garden club. Trees will be claimed by their owners on Jan. 3. A limited number of undecorated trees with lights are available for $10.
