Vandals hit Modesto’s Savage campus

Modesto Police responded to a report of vandalism early Saturday morning at Dan Savage Middle School in the city’s Village One neighborhood.

According to Sgt. Robert Stewart, officers received a call just before 1 a.m. reporting suspicious activity at the east Modesto school, 1900 Maid Mariane Lane. The caller said two people were fleeing the area on foot. Officers arrived to find broken windows and some of the property spray painted.

No suspects were found at the scene or in the area by police, said Stewart, who did not have information on the nature of the spray painting or the extent of damage.
