YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Department of Health Services announced it would continue to give flu shots for as long as it had a supply. The department said it had 1,975 inoculations of the vaccine to give. Department representative Elaine Lane said it did not have the budget to buy more and would be lucky if it got past November. The countywide campaign to immunize seniors and people in high-risk groups was successful; a total of 8,500 had been immunized by early November.
