Two-alarm fire damages Salida home
A two-alarm fire badly damaged a two-story Salida home on Thursday evening.
The fire broke out at about 4:30 p.m., in a home in the 4800 block Aspen Street, said Salida Fire Protection District Chief Dale Skiles.
He said it took firefighters about 15 minutes to knock down the flames. It was “well-involved,” he said. “Fire was coming out of a couple of side of the building at the time of arrival.”
No one was home at the time of the fire but the home is occupied. Skiles didn’t know shortly after the fire how many people lived there or if they would be assisted by the American Red Cross.
Most of the damage is on the first floor.
