50 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Committee on School District Organization announced it would launch a study on the unification of the Modesto High School District. The decision came on a 6-2 vote and nearly two hours of discussion in the county schools office. The Hughson Union High School District was not initially involved in the study, but the door was left open for it to be included if Hughson residents chose to be included.
