County supervisors OK rezone for farm equipment dealership

Stanislaus County supervisors unanimously approved a 17-acre rezone Tuesday for a John Deere dealership near Keyes.

Belkorp Ag plans to move its Modesto farm equipment dealership on Crows Landing Road to property on Nunes Road, on the east side of Highway 99, north of Keyes Road. The new dealership with a 57,000 square-foot two-story building will have far more space for maintenance service and an outdoor area for displaying tractors, orchard equipment and mowers.

Beside its agricultural business, Belkorp sells golf and turf equipment.

The Keyes site will give customers better access from Highway 99. Belkorp won’t use all of the 17 acres. Other businesses such as restaurants or service stations could be developed near the freeway.
